EMDR therapy, or eye movement desensitisation reprocessing, is a treatment for trauma that focuses on alleviating symptoms. Unlike other therapies, EMDR therapy is conducted during the session and does not require clients to discuss their trauma in detail, allowing for minimal or no homework assignments.
Research indicates that EMDR therapy can lead to rapid and significant reductions in PTSD symptoms. Many clients, especially those who have experienced single-incident trauma, report substantial improvements within just a few sessions.
If you are interested in learning more about EMDR therapy or exploring options like Theraplay or Victim of Crime Counselling, see here.
